What: Magician that can see 2 mins into his own future is need to stop a Nuke.
Who: Nicolas Cage, Julianne Moore, Jessica Biel, and a bunch of other actors.
How: Remember Minority Report when Tom Cruise rescue the female Pre-Cog and to get away, the Pre-Cog tells Tom what & when to do it so they won’t be caught. That’s what this movie is all about. Right off the bat Nick Cage does the same thing, timing his move so he doesn’t get caught by Casino Security.
The basic plot is that terrorist has smuggle a Russian Nuke on to US soil (paging Jack Bauer?) and Julianne Moore’s character has to find it using Cage’s ability.
Watching the commercial, I was postive this movie would suck ass big time. And Nick, what’s with the hair? It just makes you look even balder, lol.
I’m not sure I’m alone on this, but everytime I see a movie commercial staring Nick Cage, I automatically think the movie will suck hard and wonder why did they cast him (ie. Ghost Rider) But he’s one of those actors that carries the film (no matter how shitty) and in the end you can see why he as cast, to save the movie.
This is one of those craptastic B movie that you might see on Sci-Fi channel on a Saturday night, but they changed the pace towards the end and made it into an episode of 24, lol.
Imagine Jack Bauer with ESP leading a team to track down terrorist, knowing what they’ll do, when & where they’ll do it. At that point I was pretty much glued to the screen. In the end it turns into an episode of Lost where they raised all these questions and doesn’t answer anything! I won’t spoil the ending for you (the ending will spoil it for you, lol)
This is basically a Nick Cage movie. Everyone else is just an extra. Moore pretty much does nothing but shoot a gun and Biel is nothing more than a love interest, similar to her role in The Illusionist. She’s dressed down so she doesn’t outshine Nick and makes it somewhat feasible that someone like him could land someone like her. Cause all girl fall for guys that can do magic and has a receding hairline, lol
Bootleg quality is ok. Kinda dark, but no weird angles, focus issues or objects (ie. Audience walking, fingers, etc…)
