Grindhouse
What: 2 movies mixed with fake trailers. First is a sci-fi’ish zombie followed by some fake trailers then next is a talkative car chase movie
Who: Robert Rodriguez, Quentin Tarantino, and a whole bunch of celebrities.
How: This movie is perfect as a bootleg! It’s suppose to look like crap! Mimicking the old grindhouse graining movies including missing scenes/reels. So even a cam version looks fine.
First movie looks like a Sci-Fi channel original movie. Complete with outrage plot and stunts. The story is cohesive even with missing (sex) scene. There’s gonna be alot of wtf questions, like how can she fire that gun without pressing the trigger, etc.. Forget it, just pretend the zombie ate your brain and enjoy the movie. The cheese factor is high and is done for comedic purposes only (think of the Mummy) so it doesn’t make the movie campy.
Second movie looks like a typical Trantino movie. He tries to pay homage to grindhouse films, but totally messes it up with all the witty dialog. This is made more obvious by the faux trailers with their one liner crapalog. Once you get pass the dialog (with Tarantino’s stereotypical black dialog) and get to the car chases it’s pretty damn good. The plot is iffy on this one (unlike the first one) cause you never get a reason for why he does what he does.
Overall, just watching the fake trailers alone is worth it.
